Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year!

I am extremely excited for this school year! We have had a great start so far and I am looking forward to getting to know your child and family more!

This blog will serve as a communication tool between school and home. Be sure to check back often!

We are excited that our school earned their field trip to the Chinooks Game tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7. 

Here is some information for you:

• The bus will leave school at 10:00 a.m. and return by 3:00 p.m. All students will be dismissed from Thorson.   

• All students need a bag lunch and a drink. You are welcome to pack snacks as well.

• Students should wear their Fuel Up to Play 60 shirt. Please note that it is much cooler at Kapco Park, so students should dress in layers.

• Students should wear sunscreen to school.

• We will be sitting in the grassy area at the park.  Students are welcome to bring a small blanket or towel.

• Students may bring a small backpack or cinch bag to carry their lunch and blanket/towel in.

• Students should not bring money.  We will not be going to the concession stand to purchase any items.  Thank you for your cooperation with this!

Field Day is planned for tomorrow (Friday, June 3).

Please make sure your child is dressed to be outside in the afternoon.

They need to be wearing tennis shoes.

Send along a water bottle with their name.

Also, join us for Lunch on the Lawn.

Come eat outside with your child tomorrow (Friday, June 3).

Lunch is at 11:30.

Just 10 more days until 3rd Grade!!

Today we started our 10 Day Countdown Surprise until the end of the school year.

Yes, only 10 days left!

(Well, now only 9)

 

Each day we will open a new surprise for our class! 

Today this silly bunch found out that Mrs. Kowalkowski is having a girl! She can't wait to meet these 3rd graders next year!

Japan Kimono Shirts

Many students painted their kimonos today. 

For the students that did not have a shirt to paint, please have one here by tomorrow. 

We are asking for an old button up shirt.

Shaving Cream Word Work!

Today, we practiced our high frequency spelling words in shaving cream! We had fun getting a little messy during our word work time!
