Health!

The last two weeks our science focus has been health. We talked about healthy eating, exercise, and hygiene. Today students wrote goals for themselves to be healthier.

We played activity Jenga to get our bodies moving!
Thanks to our School's Fuel Up to Play 60 team for the activity!
Thanks to Mrs. Straub for coming in and teaching us about some healthy snack recipes!

We really enjoyed the book I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato

We are in need of a few materials.

Our classroom needs some more glue sticks.

Mrs. Letcher is looking for some paper towel tubes for a project they will be doing in Art.

If you can send either to school it would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Kenya Activities

As part of Kenya Day on Friday, students learned how to play mancala. This is a fun game that you can even play at home with an empty egg carton.

Here's a link to a website that gives instructions. Students should be able to help explain.

Today, we learned another game called Sey Sey Sey.
We made a few changes from the original game to play inside our classroom.

Calling all surgeons!!

This quarter one of our grammar topics is contractions. Students practiced cutting apart the two words and stitching them up with a band-aid for their apostrophe.

Working together to make contractions.
Making the first cut.

Maria's gloves were a bit too big....she still has time to perfect her craft.

This contraction survived.
Possibly our future doctors?!?!
Each surgeon had an assistant.
